A special feature of WELLONS boilers is the ability to operate on fuel with high moisture content (up to 55% and above). This ability is provided by the boiler design, namely by the use of cell-type furnace system (up to six furnaces per one boiler) and a large-size combustion chamber. Six cell furnaces with a common combustion chamber ensure stable operation of the boiler maintaining its performance and steam parameters (pressure, temperature), even with a sudden change in the fuel qualitative composition, increase or decrease of its moisture content or calorific value. In certain industries, variation of bark waste humidity has a pronounced character, therefore, the use of WELLONS technology has an advantage and is, sometimes, the only solution to a problem (for example, in case of burning production sludge or sewage waste) as compared with shearing grate or fluidized bed boilers.
